02 - Procedure

Breast
Lift.

Mastopexy

A procedure that restores the breast's natural shape - without increasing volume. It lifts the gland, repositions the nipple, and removes excess skin.

About the procedure
When a lift is needed, not augmentation.

Many patients come requesting to "enlarge the breasts," but after examination it becomes clear: volume is sufficient - shape needs to change. In these cases, an implant will not solve the problem. Mastopexy will.

The main goal of the procedure is to lift the gland, move the nipple-areola complex to an anatomically correct position, and remove excess stretched skin. After that, the breast regains a youthful shape without losing its natural volume.

Who it is for
Indications.
Breast ptosis grade 1, 2, or 3
Shape changes after pregnancy and breastfeeding
Stretched skin with sufficient native volume
Breast descent after significant weight loss
Age-related shape changes
The Professor Fayzullin's approach
Minimizing scars through technique selection.

Depending on the degree of ptosis and tissue condition, one of three techniques is used: periareolar, vertical, or inverted-T. The choice is made so the scar is as minimal as possible for the specific anatomy.

From Tagir Fayzullin's doctoral dissertation
Russian Patent No. 2772750
Method of preoperative marking for breast augmentation with mastopexy.

The technique accounts for individual tissue density and reduces postoperative complication risk in patients with dense glandular tissue - the group in which standard techniques more often produce unsatisfactory results.

Steps
How the journey unfolds.
01
Initial consultation

Assessment of ptosis grade, expectation review, technique selection.

02
Workup

Ultrasound with breast tissue density measurement, laboratory tests, specialist examinations.

03
Surgery

Under general anesthesia, duration 2-3 hours depending on technique.

04
Recovery

One night in hospital. Return to desk work in 7-10 days.

05
Follow-up

Check-ups at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Final scar appearance develops over the course of a year.

Common questions
FAQ

Didn't find an answer? Ask your question directly.

How is a lift different from augmentation?
+
Augmentation adds volume. A lift changes shape without changing volume. If a patient has enough native tissue but the breast has descended - a lift is needed. If volume is insufficient - augmentation is needed. If both apply - a combined procedure.
What scars should I expect?
+
It depends on the technique. Periareolar - scar only around the areola. Vertical - adds a vertical scar below the areola. Inverted-T - plus a horizontal scar in the inframammary fold. Technique selection accounts for ptosis grade and patient priorities.
Will nipple sensation be preserved?
+
In most cases - yes. Temporary reduction in sensation is possible in the first weeks after surgery. Full recovery usually takes from several weeks to several months.
Can it be combined with augmentation?
+
Yes, this is one of Professor Fayzullin's and AECLINIC's key areas. That is procedure 03 - lift with augmentation.
