I started as a general surgeon in emergency surgery. Several years of shifts in the general surgery department of a city hospital taught me one thing: there is a wide gap between what a surgeon knows in theory and what happens in a living body during an operation. Only experience and honesty with oneself can close that gap.
I moved into plastic surgery in 2009. I completed my primary specialization at RUDN University in Moscow, followed by a one-year fellowship at the university hospital in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in reconstructive and burn surgery. After Aachen, I could no longer return to general surgery. It became clear - I would focus on the breast.
Why the breast specifically? Because it is the most complex area of aesthetic surgery. Universal protocols do not work here. Every patient is a new case: different anatomy, different tissue, different history, different expectations. And at the same time - the strictest demands on the outcome.
Over more than 17 years of practice, I have performed more than five thousand breast operations. I defended my PhD dissertation in 2012. I defended my doctoral dissertation in 2025 - the fifth doctoral thesis in plastic surgery in the history of the specialty in Russia.
People often ask me: why would a surgeon with a practice in Moscow move to Dubai. The answer lies in the long-term perspective.
Dubai also sits close to the GCC, the CIS, and Europe. That makes it possible to operate on patients from dozens of countries without asking them to fly halfway around the world. Dubai is becoming a new geographic centre for medical tourism in our niche.
For me, AECLINIC is not a "branch" of a Moscow practice. It is a new breast aesthetic surgery center in Dubai with a different philosophy: narrow specialization, precise diagnostics, an individual plan and personal care for each patient.

why do some patients develop complications after mammoplasty while others recover excellently?
Doctoral thesis: "Information technologies in predicting and preventing complications of breast surgery." This is not textbook theory - it is a clinical study of more than 17 years that included five thousand analysed patient records and two hundred forty-four patients in the prospective phase.
Statistical significance was demonstrated for 16 risk factors. Among them, tissue density carries the greatest weight - a factor most clinics still do not assess objectively before surgery.
The technique reduces the risk of postoperative complications in patients with dense breast tissue - the group in which standard techniques more often produce an unsatisfactory outcome.
The software analyses individual patient risk factors and estimates the probability of postoperative complications before surgery. Prediction accuracy - 98.2% on training and test datasets.

In my practice, every operation begins with assessment that objectively answers the question: can it be done in a single stage? Not "as is customary" and not "what is convenient for the surgeon" - but what is safe for this specific patient.
Breast tissue density measurement shows tissue structure. Predictive software calculates individual risk. Only after that do we discuss surgical strategy.
For one patient, the strategy is a single-stage operation. For another with dense tissue - a two-stage approach. That is often longer, but statistically it delivers a better outcome at one year. I choose the outcome at one year, not a quick operation today.
This is not my personal opinion - it is the conclusion of more than 17 years of research that formed the basis of my doctoral dissertation.
